Le Club de l’Amitié
Inspired and encouraged by his close friends in Pointe-aux-Roches (who themselves had organized the first-ever Francophone “Club d’Âge d’Or” in the region), Mr. Edmond Chauvin, a retired teacher from École secondaire de Pain Court, founded the “Club d’Âge d’Or de Pain Court” in 1975.
A few years later, the club changed its name to the “Club des Aînés de Pain Court” and then eventually to the “Club de l’Amitié”.
Centre communautaire La Girouette

Pretty in Pink
Pretty in Pink began in 2006 when a group of local women joined together to support a dear friend diagnosed with cancer by participating in the “Relay for Life” cancer walk. It is a 12 hour walk to raise money for cancer research. In 2007, the group reunited and did the walk again. They then realized that Chatham-Kent was in dire need of funding for their Oncology Department and so they started fundraising the summer of 2007 with Candy for Cancer. The response from the community was overwhelming.
In 2008, the women hosted their first annual chicken and dumpling dance with great success. Again they were overwhelmed with the support they received. Thanks to the community, they not only had a very successful evening but were also able to donate their first cheque, a sum of $10,000, to the CKHA Oncology Department on April 5, 2008. The ultimate goal was to help patients of the Oncology Department receive the treatments they need while staying closer to home. More recently, Pretty In Pink has been raising money for the Chatham-Kent Hospice through multiple events hosted each year.

Parc Paul Bélanger
Behind the Parc Centenaire, a large block of land was acquired by the local Catholic School Board from a local farmer.
And in 2004, on the weekend celebrating the Community’s 150 th Anniversary, the new Park was dedicated to the memory of School Superintendent Paul Belanger.
A large crowd attended the event, and a commemorative plaque was unveiled. The highlight of this dedication was the participation of 150 local families and
individuals who planted 150 native trees on the property. The event is remembered by the large plaque at the entrance to the park.
In later years, the local Parks Board and the Municipality contributed funds to construct a beautiful 1.6 Km (1 mile) Cement Path that covers the property. It is used by hundreds of local residents during the year. Check the aerial photos for the visual presentation of this beautiful track.
The Ball Diamond is located on this property and the south end of the park is used by the local high school for track and field and other recreational activities. The Park is a wonderful asset for Pain Court..
Parc Royale
Located in the eastern subdivision of the village, the Parc Royale is a new addition to Pain Court. Located between Rue Ste. Bernadette and Rue St. Joseph just north of the Creek Line Road, the park features a small pathway, permanent soccer posts, and multiple newly planted trees.
Park Rules:
- A reminder that dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and supervised at all times.
- Recreational and Motor vehicles aside from lawn maintenance and service vehicles are prohibited on the properties
- Please respect the surrounding community and avoid using the park after dark
